From the president

Founded over 175 years ago, the house of Hermès is enriched by its long history, and by a commitment to humanist values that has underpinned its development from the outset – values that are best defined as a shared vision, handed down over five generations of directors. A vision based on the harmonious, coherent development of the house's financial, human and cultural capital. Each generation of directors – and now the sixth – has carried forward, simply and in its own way, the belief that a business that makes nothing but money is poor indeed: that a truly successful business must also know how to "add value" in human and cultural terms. Our vocation
Created in April 2008, the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès reflects Hermès's determination to consolidate and extend its policy of committed philanthropic support. The Foundation is a vehicle for generous acts of citizenship reflecting the humanist values of the founders of the house of Hermès and their close, long-standing links with the arts.
The Fondation d’entreprise Hermès is a public-interest organisation reflecting the core values of the house of Hermès, supporting cultural and philanthropic projects steered by individuals and external organisations, in four key areas:
promoting traditional craft skills and expertise,
support for the creative arts,
access to education and training,
the preservation of environment (biodiversity)
Founded jointly by Hermès International and Hermès Sellier, the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès is managed by a Board of 18 members presided by Pierre-Alexis Dumas, with two vice-presidents, Pascale Mussard and Nicolas Puech.
